Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano as well as the harpsichord for three consecutive years. Lennox was able to live with the stipend she received from her students and work part-time jobs. Lennox did not feel happy with the quality of her abilities compared to the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking at other options. Lennox began her career in 1976 in the band Dragons Playground. The group broke up before they appeared on I.T.V's Talent program New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she was the vocalist in The Tourists. A British pop group. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. Lennox then began to work on her first solo album Diva and it was released around 1992. Both commercially as well as critically the album was a massive hit. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October 2014. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favorite blues and soul jazz songs from her childhood. In addition in May 2019 Lennox published Lepidoptera which is a compilation comprising four tracks improvised by piano. This E.P. is an accompanying piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You go... It's also her debut independently-released album. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on the 25th of December. She is a social activist, philanthropist as well as a performer. The Tourists were a new-wave band that achieved some popularity in the latter part of 1970s. Later, Lennox became a part of the band with her fellow singer-songwriter Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox debuted her solo music career in 1992 by releasing her debut album Diva. The album featured a variety of popular songs including the hit song Walking On Broken Glass and What's the Matter with You. Medusa the album from 1995 studio, features version covers of the songs No MoreI Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer has recorded six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album.
